The Vee Quiva Casino is a Native American casino located in Laveen, Arizona and owned by the Gila River Indian Community. Vee Quiva Casino is one of three casinos owned by the tribe. The other Gila River Hotel & Casinos are Lone Butte Casino and Wild Horse Pass Casino.

The current Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino opened July 2, 2013 and replaced the original Gila River casino in Laveen. The replacement cost was $135 million.

Gila River opens Arizona Cardinals-branded hotel room

The Arizona Cardinals have named Gila River Hotels & Casinos the team's official hotel and casino partner. To add to the fan experience, Gila River has added a special Cardinals-themed hotel room at both Wild Horse Pass and Vee Quiva.

Each team-theme room is branded in Cardinal red and black colors with signed memorabilia on the walls, and a bucket of Red Bird Lager. the Cardinals-branded beer from Four Peaks Brewing Company.

Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino opens George Lopez's restaurant

Gila River's Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino opened a new restaurant on Cinco de Mayo weekend. It is George Lopez's Chingon Kitchen, a fast-casual Mexican restaurant.

George Lopez, the comedian and actor, attended the grand opening and welcomed guests to his restaurant.

The Chingon Kitchen menu features tacos, torta, burritos, taquitos, Cabo-stuffed potatoes, bowls and salad. Each comes with aa choice of carne asada, chicken, carnitas or shrimp along with a dozen choices of choices of toppings and salsas. All items are $7.50 - $10.50.

Vee Quiva Hotel and Casino prepares to Open

June 20, 2013

The date is set for the opening of a new casino in Arizona. The Vee Quiva Hotel and Casino will be opening on July 02, 2013. The casino is owned by the Gila River Indian Community.

Celebrations for the opening will last for a week. The building design is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. Created by the Friedmutter Group.

The casino hotel has taken a year to complete at a cost of $35 million. The casino will be in operation 24 hours daily. It will offer 36 game tables, poker, 950 slot machines, and a Bingo Park with over 500 seats. The casino floor is 70,000 square feet.

The hotel is three stories tall. There are 90 guest rooms. In addition, there is a fitness center and a pool.

There will also be a steakhouse, Ditka's. It will be the first one in the area. Named after Mike Ditka, the former coach for the Chicago Bears.

500 jobs were created during the construction progress. Over 300 full time jobs have been completed for when the casino hotel opens.

Vee Quiva Casino has winner of $1.1 million MegaJackpot

July 15, 2010

There's a new winner of a $1.1 million progressive prize won at the Vee Quiva Casino. The winner asked to remain anonymous. He did state that it was his first time he played the $1 machine. After playing $20 the winner was shocked to win the mega prize.

Immediate plans for the winner include the purchase of a new home.

The MegaJackpot was won on July 2. This was the fourth MegaJackpot prize to be paid out this year. This has happed two times in the previous five days. Earlier this year, the Vee Quiva Casino paid $282,708 on January 9th. Around two weeks later another winner was paid $112,915.

Since 1998 the Vee Quiva Casino has paid out 22 MegaJackpot prizes. This equals $12.3 million in prize money. The largest was $1.7 million from the Wheel of Fortune progressive game.

Vee Quiva Casino pays $282,708 MegaJackpot

January 15, 2010

LAVEEN, AZ - The first MegaJackpot of 2010 was won at Gila River's Vee Quiva Casino last week. Larry Socha was the lucky winner of the $282,708 MegaJackpot. He won the Wheel of Fortune after playing $80 on the machine.

The Vee Quiva Casino has now paid 19 MegaJackpot prizes since 1998 for a total payout of $10.8 million. Its last MagaJackpot a $167,805 Wheel of Fortune payout on August 31, 2009.

There have been four MegaJackpot prizes over $1 million each won at Vee Quiva Casino. The two largest were a $1.7 million and $1.6 million paid on the Wheel of Fortune dollars progressive system.

The Gila River casinos at Vee Quiva, Wild Horse Pass and Lone Butte belong to nationwide Native American progressive gaming network. Their machines are linked on a network that accumulates a progressive jackpot called the MegaJackpot. So far these three casinos have paid out more than $40 million in MegaJackpot prizes.
